Herman Cain Suspends Presidential Campaign
After accusation after accusation, Herman Cain has officially suspended his campaign for the presidency. Saying that he is at peace with his God and his wife, he has decided to suspend his bid.
He says that he is taking a break because of all the hurt on his family, not because they aren't fighting for his victory. Also, he passionately declared that he will not be dropping out of the race, this is only temporary.
One hopeful down, many more to go.

More Tensions? Oh Perfect! No Really, Fan-spanking-tastic
In case you've been living under a rock recently (this post is a little late) the U.S. recently accused Iran of trying to blow a building up in the States. Sounds reasonable right? Well.. no. Turns out our 'evidence' was the fact that the two bombers were from Iran. Even though they had been living here for years, and one was even a legal citizen, this didn't stop the government from accusing Iran of hatching a plot to kill Americans.
Normally we don't like to bash the government.. but.. really?? REALLY? Are you trying to start a nuclear war? At least wait until technology has advanced enough for us to take refuge on Mars while our planet is blown to tiny pieces. Thanks.

Steve Jobs 1955-2011
"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being," the text read. "Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."
Rest in peace.
A New iPhone?! Oh My God.. Oh My God!!
Yes, it's true. Another iPhone has finally been announced. However, it's not what most of us were expecting. The majority of consumers were under the impression that we would be getting a completely redesigned iPhone that hardly looked anything like its ancestors. Well, no.
It looks almost exactly like the iPhone 4, but with the upcoming update to iOS 5 (available for free to iPhones and iPods 3GS and later), it will be vastly different, and as usual, new and exciting. (While a huge factor of the iPhone 4s is the new software, it does feature better hardware such as an 8 megapixel camera, and a dual core A5 chip.)
For full details, visit Apple.
Available October 18th.

'Till Death Do Us Part
In Georgia a man awaits a decision about whether or not he will be placed on death row, for a fourth time. Troy Davis, convicted for the murder of a Savannah police officer in 1991 has been on death row three times.
His guilt has come into serious question in the last week before his scheduled execution on Wednesday. 7 of the 9 witnesses have recanted their testimony against Davis. There was also no murder weapon ever found.
While protesters rallied outside the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles, the mother of the dead cop, Anneliese MacPhail remains stoically convinced of Davis' guild. "I'm not out after blood," she told CNN, "I'm after justice."
The Board met today to determine Davis' fate.

Ten Years Later
Ten years later, the nation gathers at Ground Zero, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania to remember the nearly three thousand people lost.
Despite the uncertainty, the panic and the chaos, America rebuilt and recovered.
We must remember that it was Al Qaeda, not the government, or Muslims as a whole who killed so many. In the years since 9/11, everyone has felt the tightened security and the loss of peace, especially innocent Muslims.
Now, however, some peace may return, and some hatred may dwindle. In May of this year, the man who organized the world's most terrible terrorist attacks, Osama Bin Laden, was killed by Navy Seal Team Six.

Forbes' Most Powerful Women. Kind Of.
Today, Forbes realeased this year's edition of The World's Most Powerful Women. Taking first place is Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, followed by Hillary Clinton. Superstar entertainer Lady Gaga came in at eleventh, Oprah Winfrey at fourteenth.
But perhaps the most shocking ranking we saw was Michelle Bachmann; number twenty-two. Under her name is her 'occupation': presidential candidate. While Bachmann has had a very successful career in the House, is this really enough to make her the twenty-second most powerful woman in the entire world? She even beat Angelina Jolie and Sarah Palin, who came in twenty-ninth and thirty-fourth respectively.
So congradulations to all of the women who made the list. But Forbes, isn't the name of the list 'Most Powerful Women'? Not 'Most Interesting Women'?

5.8 Magnitude Earthquake... Where??
Earlier this afternoon, a 5.8 magnitude earth quake struck 40 miles outside of Richmond. The shaking could be felt all along almost the entire east coast. The quake promted dozens of evacuations and the automatic shutdown of a nuclear power plant in virgina.
Two after shocks ranging 2-3 in magnitude struck later in the evening. As of publishing, there are no reports of severe injuries or damage. Let's hope is stays that way.

Mitt Romney, Ohh Mitt Romney...
In a factory Q&A this morning, Mitt Romney bashed the president for taking three days off for a bus tour around the midwest. Romney aaid that it seems the president is more concerned about saving his job than creating jobs.
But what about the other candidates? Have the governors and senators not abandoned their posts as they seek the presidential nomination? While they are not presidents, surely they could be working to boost jobs in their jurisdiction instead of campaignig a year in advance?
You make the call..

A Straw Poll for a Straw Backbone
A year and some months before the next presidential election, the campaigning is well underway. Over the weekend a straw poll was held in Ames, Iowa to see which GOP candidates. Rising powerhouse Michelle Bachmann stole first place from the previously suspected winner Mitt Romney, who took sixth.
Ironically, Tim Pawllenty, who did fairly well and placed third, has decided to drop out of the race.
Another surprise came in the form of Texas governor Rick Perry who announced his candidancy on Saturday in South Carolina. he managed to snag fifth place on the polling in Iowa despite not being on the ballot at all. His votes were all write-ins!
So to all of our aspiring Republicans, stay strong, keep dodging questions, and try not to get your history facts mixed up (Palin **cough**)

Casey Anthony -- has done nothing!
Popular newsstation HLN was focusing, this morning, on the story that absolutely no decision has been reached in Casey Anthony's probation. Somehow it seems to us that if nothing has happened, then it's not really news is it?

He Plays Modern Warfare... Potential Mass-Murderer!
The latest news on the Norway bombings is that the suspect Anders Behring Breivik played such video games as Modern Warfare and World of Warcraft. The media seems to have latched onto this fact as a reason for Breivik's attacks. Breivik said on his Facebook account that he even used Modern Warfare in his 'training'. While both video games contain violence, we urge the media to remember that pushing button 'x' on a controller to fire a gun, and actually firing a gun are two vastly different sensations. It is highly unlikely that his attacks in Oslo were directly related to playing these video games, which millions upon millions of other people enjoy everyday.
To suggest that these games create violence in the real world demonstrates an enormous misunderstanding of the games themselves. Mark Turpin 'Turpster'; 'I'm one of those people who can raise his hand and say, "I play Modern Warfare, but I've never shot a person.'

Don't #blamethemuslims
Wondering how the 'trending' and seemingly racist hash-tag on Twitter got it's start? Turns out, a Muslim actually began it with a series if sarcastic tweets such as, 'Spilled beer down your shirt? Blame the Muslims.' etc..
We took the time to scroll all the way down @Strange_Sanum's profile to see the few tweets that began a movement.

Unfortunately, some people have mistaken this hash-tag campaign as actual racist remarks and have not hesitated to add their vile opinion. But we at KindofNewsWorthy salute Strange_Sanum for exposing the media's fear campaign against the Muslim community.

Boom
An enormous, fatal explosion rocked Oslo, Norway earlier. As of publishing, there is only one confirmed death (the prime minister survived), but images of scorched and broken buildings seem to suggest that the number of casualties will rise.
No one has yet claimed responsibility, but many leaders suspect Al Queda's involvment.

Islamist Militants Ban Foreign Aid in Somalia
The Islamist military group ruling Somalia recently reversed its pledge that foreign aid would be allowed in. The group claims that aid organizations such as branches of the United Nations are really spies and Christian crusaders. While the group acknowledges that there is a drought in Somalia, it declares that all allegations of a famine are lies designed to get spies into the country.
Meanwhile, according to leading aid organizations, 60% of the Somalian population is facing severe drought or famine.
Due to the Islamist group's irrational actions, thousands, if not millions, of Somalians may die.

Casey Anthony --- Who on Earth Cares Anymore?
Casey Anthony isn't guilty.. Doesn't sound quite right, but thanks to the Constition's No Double Jeopardy rule, there's nothing more we can do about it. So that's it right? No more Casey Anthony this, Casey Anthony that any more right?
Nope.
Now major news networks (CNN -cough-) have taken to wondering 'Where in the world is Casey Anthony?!' Can we please just give the whole thing a rest? It's done. Overwith. Nothing more!
